Sean Harling, who returned to his alma mater during the fall of 2020, is in his fifth season as director of baseball operations at Oregon.
Harling is responsible for coordinating team travel, budget planning, on-campus recruiting and the day-to-day operations of the baseball program. In addition, Harling serves as the liaison between the baseball staff and academic services, media relations, marketing, fundraising, ticketing and the training room staff.
Harling graduated from the University of Oregon in 2017 and worked as a student manager with the Ducks’ baseball team while receiving his bachelor's degree in general social science. His responsibilities for the team included serving as a liaison between the baseball staff and Nike equipment, services and management. He also coordinated practice and game schedules with coaches and student-athletes, and collaborated and trained the department’s student managers while providing day-to-day operations.
After graduating from Oregon, Harling worked in the private sector at Northwestern Mutual in Schaumburg, Ill., from 2017 to 2019. He also continues to serve as an honors caddie, a position he has held since 2005.
